Outgoing Communications Authority boss Francis Wangusi has filed a case at the High Court to stop Ms Mercy Wanjau's elevation to the office of the director-general.

The hearing of the case is currently underway at the Milimani Law Courts as Mr Wangusi refuses to retire peacefully.

A defiant Wangusi has maintained that he will not hand over to Ms Wanjau — who worked under him as the director of legal services — following her appointment as the director-general in an acting capacity.

Ms Wanjau already gave her former boss an ultimatum to exit office and vacate the government-owned house he occupies.

Though his second term came to a close last week, Mr Wangusi says he was not formally asked to hand over, adding he only learnt about the elevation of Ms Wanjau when she was unveiled to the media by board chairman Ngene Gituku.
