Meller Luchiri, Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah's wife, has expressed her disappointment in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission after its biometric system failed to identify the controversial presidential hopeful.

"It's very disappointing for the machines not to work on the day that is most important to the lives of Kenyans. However, no weapon formed against the people of Kenya shall prosper. That's the ground that we stand on," she said.

Wajackoyah failed to cast his vote in Indangalasia, Matungu, Kakamega County after the Kenya Integrated Elections Management (KIEMs) kit failed to identify him using his fingerprint. He threatened to boycott the voting process if the lapse is not addressed forthwith.

The accomplished lawyer stated that he was disappointed that he is the only presidential candidate who has not voted yet.

"I am disappointed that I have not voted. Why is it that I am the only presidential candidate who hasn’t voted? Why couldn’t they test the Kiems kits? … I stand with God, that’s the only thing I can say."

"I am not happy but I cannot say anything, what are these people afraid of? Why didn't they test the kits? The older generation has to go home," he added.
