UPDATE: 10 more people test positive for Covid-19 in Kenya

Ten more people have tested positive for Covid-19 bringing to 384 those who are infected with the virus in Kenya.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mercy Mwangangi on Wednesday, April 29, said that nine of the new Covid-19 cases are from Mombasa County, adding that all of them are from local transmission.

Dr. Mwangangi said that the 10 cases were confirmed from the 508 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

Five people have also been discharged from treatment and care centres today, bring the number of those who have recovered from Covid-19 to 129.

Of the 508 samples tested since yesterday, Dr. Mwangangi said that 289 were from Nairobi while 89 were from Mombasa counties.

The Health official noted that Nairobi and Mombasa have become Covid-19 hotspots based the results trend but cautioned other counties from letting their guard down.
