University student arrested after woman’s decomposing body was found in his house

A 21-year-old man identified as Mark Njoroge was arrested on suspicion of the murder of a 38-year-old woman whose body was found decomposing in his house in Molo, Nakuru county, police said.

It is reported that the third-year student at Kababii University was living in the same premises with the lady’s lifeless body which was also found to have been mutilated.

Mark was presented before Molo Resident Magistrate Rhoda Yato after his arrest on Monday, January 9 in Lanet, Nakuru county.

Reports indicate that Mary Njeri a mother of eight went missing after leaving her home on December 31, 2021.

According to the police, Mark could not explain why a dead mutilated body was found in his house upon questioning.

He will be detained for the next 14 days to allow ongoing investigations to be concluded.

The case will be mentioned on January 24, 2022.
