Popular deejay James Achido Onyango, commonly known as VDJ Jones has come out to indirectly hit out at radio presenter Mzazi M Tuva over what he termed as hypocrisy for not supporting Gengetone music.

In a video where he was recorded attacking the radio presenter, VDJ Jones accused Mzazi of not supporting Gengetone music.

“Kuna reality fulani nataka kuwaambia. Kuna buda fulani hajawahi support mziki yetu. Tangu tuseme Gengetone ikuje huyu jama hajawahi kutucheza (There is a fact I would like to highlight for you. There is a man who has never supported our music. Since we said Gengetone is now our flavour, he has never played our music),” VDJ Jones said.

He criticized the veteran radio entertainer for being part a music collaboration dubbed Si Huchanga which features Mavo on the beat, Rekles and Trio Mio.

The music collaboration was released two weeks ago.

According to VDJ Jones, Mzazi’s era is long gone and he cannot, therefore, purport to be part of Genegetone industry which he has not been supporting.

"Saizi time yake imeisha anarukia mziki ya Gengetone ati anakuja kutafuta collabo. Si aambiwe Ukweli? Si mnamjua ni nani? Cheki buda unakuja kudandia Gengetone ati unachanga, unachanga nini? Umetoka kuwa host sasa umekua msani, wewe umechapa ama nini? (Now that his era is now gone, he has forced himself into Gengetone to look for a music collaboration. Should he not be told the truth? Don’t you know him? Come on guy, you are forcing yourself to Gengetone singing Unachanga, for what? You have moved from being a host to an artist, are you finished career wise?)” he posed.

His remarks is expected to elicit a beef of some sort in the music industry given that Gengetone artists who feel ‘betrayed’ by Mzazi will most likely join him in criticizing the radio presenter.
