President Uhuru Kenyatta has led the country in condoling the family of his Water Cabinet Secretary (CS) Sicily Kariuki following the death of her daughter.

On Sunday, July 19, President Kenyatta revealed that CS Kariuki's daughter, Wendy Muthoni, died at a Nairobi hospital.

"The President wished the family God's fortitude during this difficult period of grief and assured them of his support as they come to terms with the big loss," said State House in a tweet.

In his condolence message to CS Kariuki's family, Deputy President William Ruto said the second-year law student at the JKUAT Karen Campus was a determined, diligent and honest lady who will be fondly remembered for her kindness and dependability.

"Our sympathies and prayers to the Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Sicily Kariuki following the death of her precious daughter Wendy Muthoni 'Noni'," said DP Ruto.

Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka also took to Twitter to condole Kariuki's family.

"May God give them strength during this difficult period," said the Wiper Democratic Movement leader.
