President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday said that Kenyans will have the final say on who will lead them during the next General Election.
Speaking during the burial of Mama Hannah Atsianzale in Malulu, Vihiga County, the Head of State said that Kenya has many tribes and that the country’s top seat does not belong to two communities only.
“What if I say that Kenya has only been led by two communities yet we have several communities and it is time we get a leader from another community?” posed President Kenyatta amidst a thunderous acclamation from the mourners.

He said that his desire is to ensure that he unites all the 48 million Kenyans in the country.
The President took issue with a section of leaders who during the Msambweni by-election in Kwale County incited voters against the First Family.
“During the Msambweni by-election, I heard some leaders saying that they were tired with the leadership of the First Family, that is not the way to go,” Kenyatta said.
The Head of State also sent a warning to Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala and COTU leader Francis Atwoli, saying that everything happens at its own time.
“Seneta Malala nawewe Atwoli musione simba amenyeshewa mkadhani ni paka, kila kitu hufanyika kwa wakati wake,” the President said.
The two leaders had earlier on taken to the podium to ask members of the Luhya community to unite and rally behind one leader.
The Head of State also dismissed a recent letter that was penned by the Senate Majority leader Irungu Kang’atta informing him that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) was bound to fail in Mount Kenya region.
Kenyatta, who was attending the burial of Mama Hannah Atsianzale in Malulu, Vihiga County said that he was in full control of the Government and nothing will derail his agenda.
“No-one is going to stop me from what am currently doing and am here to ensure that all Kenyans work together,” President Kenyatta said.
The Head of State said that he did not have time to be lectured by anyone and that no-one would stand on his way as he works round the clock to unite Kenyans.
President Kenyatta called for unity saying that it was very important for Kenyans to work together in order to ensure that the people benefit.
“I looked at how our country was disunited and it is for that reason that I decided to have a seating and share with the leaders that opposed me in the last General elections,” he said.
According to him, he decided to have a truce with ODM leader Raila Odinga and that their main agenda is to ensure that they solve the issues Kenyans face.
President Kenyatta said that top of his agenda is to ensure that more money is sent to the counties so that Kenyans can benefit from devolution.
