Two people were on Monday evening killed after an aircraft crashed at Vuria Hill in Taita Taveta County.

The two people on board were flying from Arusha to Mombasa.

The two who perished have been identified as a pilot from Wilson Airport and a doctor from Makueni.

Their Remains were taken to Wesu Hospital morgue in Wundanyi as investigations continue on what caused the accident.

Vuria Hill is the highest point in Kenya’s Coastal region and part of a flight path from Mombasa to Arusha.

The incident comes barely a day after a chopper belonging to the ODM leader Raila Odinga crashed at Kudho Primary School in Usenge village, Siaya County.

A statement by Raila's spokesperson Dennis Onyango said the plane Bell 407 registration 5Y-PSM had taken off to create space before it crash-landed.

The ODM leader had already alighted and only his four aides and the pilot were on board.

They all survived but suffered minor injuries.
