Two men charged for defiling 17-year-old in Kisumu

Two men have separately been charged before a Kisumu court for defiling a 17-year-old minor.

The duo Victor Owino and Simon Odhiambo, appeared before Winam's law court Senior Resident Magistrate Fatuma Rashid.

They were both charged with defilement contrary to section 8(4) of the sexual offenses Act.

The court heard that Owino on the diverse dates of between November 19, 2022 and January 7, 2022 at Ramula village, Ombeyi location in Muhoroni Sub-county within Kisumu intentionally defiled a 17-year-old minor.

He was also alternatively charged with committing an indecent act with a child contrary to section 11(1) of the sexual offenses Act No3.

On the other hand, Odhiambo was also charged with the same offence.

According to the charge sheet, he committed the crime in January at Gita trading centre in Kisumu East Sub-county where he intentionally defiled the minor.

He also faced the charge of committing an indecent act with a child.

They however pleaded not guilty and were released on a bond of Ksh 200,000 each.

"I also direct that they be supplied with copies of the charge sheet and witnesses statement," the magistrate directed.

The two cases will be heard on March 21, 2022.
