The driver of an auto transport trailer on Tuesday morning (October 27) lost control and rammed into a classroom at Mikeu Primary School in Bahati Constituency, Nakuru County.
Eyewitnesses, who spoke to K24 Digital, said the trailer, which was carrying a bulldozer, hurtled off the road at Dundori Trading Centre and ploughed into the classroom.
It remains unclear what led to the driver of the flat truck to lose control of the trailer.
The driver was rescued from the damaged driver’s compartment. No other person was injured in the crash.
Bahati OCPD Jacinta Mwarania told K24 Digital that there were no pupils in the classroom at the time of the accident, which occurred a few minutes past noon.
Residents now want more speed bumps erected at the trading centre, saying several fatal accidents have, in the past, happened at the same spot.
In August 2019, a truck lost control and rammed ten other vehicles in the area, resulting in three deaths.
