Tiaty MP William Kamket has been arrested in Nairobi, Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya has confirmed.

Speaking to Milele FM on Thursday morning, Natembeya said that they had been searching for the MP since Wednesday, January 20, and tracked his phone signal to Nairobi.

After his arrest, the MP was taken to Kileleshwa Police Station in Nairobi but will reportedly be transported to Nakuru County.

The MP was being sought over the insecurity in Kapedo that escalated on Sunday with the killing of a General Service Unit operations commander.

On Wednesday, six bodies of smartly dressed people were found dumped at Kiserian village in Baringo North, a night after security officers repulsed a bandit attack.

The six bodies were taken to a mortuary in Kabarnet and have yet to be identified.
