Three friends who on December 3, left their homes in Mombasa for Thika with the aim of purchasing a motor vehicle but disappeared have been found dead.

The three who are members of two separate families based in Kisauni and Likoni are Fahmi Bakari, 21, Masuo Bakari, 51, and Hussein Mohamed Hussein, 26.

Two of the bodies were found in the Thika Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue while another was found at City Mortuary.

Speaking to K24 Digital, Mohamed Hussein, the father to one of the victims, said they were informed that the bodies of the deceased were lying in the morgue.

“We received information about their deaths and that their bodies are in the morgue. We are now planning to go and find out whether it’s true and what happened," he said.

The trio according to the families had purchased a new vehicle of registration number KCZ 907R.

They were also involved in the matatu industry within the vast Mombasa town.

However, according to the families, they went missing as soon as they arrived in Mariakani, Kilifi County.

A vehicle they were using to travel from Mombasa to Thika was found abandoned in Samburu market within Samburu County.

The families said that once they confirm that indeed the bodies are those of their kinsmen they will bury them as per the dictates of the Muslim religion.

The trio had gone to pick the vehicle which they said was to be used for business.

Fahmi was a well-known driver in Mombasa while Hussein was a tout.

Masuo on the other hand decided to join the duo in the journey to Thika.

In an earlier interview with the media, Fahmi’s family said that he dropped out of school in form three after his mother was unable to raise school fees.

Hussein on the other hand is a graduate with a degree in Computer Science but who has been unable to get a job.
