A section of Jubilee legislators aligned to the Kieleweke group has termed fake an impeachment motion against Deputy President William Ruto that has been circulating on social media.

MPs Kanini Kega (Kieni), Joshua Kuttuny (Cherangany) and Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakoholo) on Monday said that fake motion was the handiwork of fertile imagination.

"It is fake, far-fetched fertile imagination. In Jubilee, we are focussed on helping the President deliver his Big Four agenda. There is no agenda to remove Ruto from office," said Kega.

The three MPs said there is no motion or intention to impeach Ruto, faulting the fake motion on social media over its lack of parliamentary procedures.

However, Kega accused Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, a close ally of the DP, of having made wild allegations over the Ruto ouster plot.

Recently, President Uhuru Kenyatta orchestrated a purge of Jubilee rebels from Senate leadership roles following two years of fractious politics that split the ruling into two camps, Kieleweke and the Ruto-leaning Tanga Tanga.

President Kenyatta's purge saw Ruto allies, Kipchumba Murkomen, Susan Kihika and Prof Kithure Kindiki lose their plum positions as Majority Leader, Majority Whip and Senate Deputy Speaker respectively.

The three were accused of disloyalty and sabotaging the President's agenda in the Senate, instead choosing to prioritize DP Ruto's presidential ambitions.
