Police in Molo, in Nakuru county, are pursuing a middle-aged woman who has disappeared with money meant for police cash bail from the police OCS.

Molo Sub- County Police Commander Samuel Mukhusi has confirmed that the unidentified house-help stole Ksh320,000 from Molo OSC Anne Kanori.

Samuel says Kanori was keeping the money in her house because their police station was undergoing a facelift.

He further cleared the air that the lost amount was not ksh900,000 was being reported on social media. " It's true that the cash bail money is missing, and the OCS will have to look for ways to avail the money for its intended purpose even if it means she will apply for a loan,” Samuel said.

Last week, the contractor arrived at the site to commence his work, forcing the OCS to move important documents, cash bail monies, among other stuff.

"We had asked for support from area CDF to redo the station, which was dilapidated, and was in bad shape. The cash bail could not remain at the station as constructors did their work," the police boss added.

"It's important that, when the cash bail monies pile up, they get moved to a safer place, so she decided to take the money to her house", he said.
