Tanzania president Samia Suluhu has, on Monday, May 17, received reports from experts who had been assigned to undertake comprehensive research on COVID-19.

The report issued by the committee chairperson Prof. Said Aboud Ikulu was handed to the president at the Dar es Salaam State House.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed government officials in April, Samia noted that a COVID-19 task force was her first priority and that the country cannot continue segregating itself anymore.

" We will form a committee of experts to tell us how the situation is and what the world is advising us to do. We cannot isolate ourselves like an island and we cannot receive what is being brought to us without analyzing it and doing our research,” Suluhu said.
