Students from Muhoho Boys High School, the best performing secondary school in Gatundu South, Kiambu County went on strike on the evening of Thursday, November 4.

The students destroyed their dormitories by pelting the windows with stones before threatening to pull down the school's fence.

According to a parent whose son schools at the learning institution, fury began when the students were having their supper after one of them incited others to cause chaos and leave the institution as they were the only ones who had not gone on strike.

"They claimed that all the schools in their neighbourhood had gone on strike and that they would not be left behind," a parent who spoke to K24 Digital on phone said.

While most of the students left the institution at night, about 250 of them are said to have been allowed to spend the night at school before they were sent home on Friday morning.

The strike comes a day after Ituru Boys High School Students in the same constituency destroyed their school bus, the principal's office and classroom window panes before they were allowed to go home.
