STRANGE BRAVERY! 15-year old boy in court for robbing police at gunpoint

A 15-year-old student has been arraigned in court for robbing a police officer attached to Kiambaa Police Station a mobile phone at gunpoint.

Yunus Noor Saad who has been arraigned at Milimani law courts is alleged to have committed the offence with other four teenagers namely Derrick Simani, Peter Makokha, Mohammed Kipchirchir and Derick Muema (all aged 17 years old). They have already been charged before court.

Particulars of the offence are that; “On May 14, 2021, at Makina area in Kilimani sub-county, jointly with others before court while armed with dangerous weapon namely Pistol, knives robbed Pius Ekai an officer attached at Kiambaa Police station of mobile phone namely Tecno Spark 5 valued at Sh 17,000 and immediately used threats to the said officer.”

They are all facing a total of three counts of robbery with violence, handling stolen goods and having suspected stolen property contrary to the law.

While pleading not guilty before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, in his defence, Yunus told the court that he is under 18 years and he is supposed to be in school.

The chief Magistrate referred him to probation officer to get in touch with his mother to provide his birth certificate to ascertain his exact age.

The court ordered him to be detained until June 14 when the probation report will be produced in court.
