South Mugirango Constituency Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro has defended himself over allegations that he makes his money through ‘wash wash’ business.

Osoro who was named in an exposé by blogger Edgar Obare refuted claims that he owns part of the claimed wealth.

‘’But somethings nyinyi huandika about some of us in these streets, hushangaza sana. At times mimi hushindwa kama ni mimi mnaongelea (Sometimes I wonder what some of you write about some of us, and marvel if it’s me you are talking about),’’ Osoro said.

Through his social media pages, Osoro could not fathom how he came to own the fortune mentioned in the expose including a new house in a leafy suburb around Nairobi County and a petrol station.

"Ile hustle nachapa hii mtaa, na msoto ya kawaida kama tu mtu yeyote (I wake up and hustle just like everyone in the country and I do get broke just like any other hustler)," Osoro added.

Osoro further said he has neither tasted alcohol nor identify with the different alcohol brands in the country and can account for any shilling he has amassed, saying they are all products of his hard work.

According to Obare, a well-connected group that has been making their unquestionable money through “wash wash'' and con game are willing to go an extra mile for the riches.

Apart from Osoro, the expose named artists and celebrities involved in the said business include KRG the Don, Prezzo, Paul Kobia, Chris Obure, Jared Otieno, Don Bosco Gichana, Allan Chesang, Mohammed Noor (Somali Bae), Adan Sonko, Oscar Sudi, Steve Mbogo, Betty Kyallo and Ben Gatu among others.
