Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has given his take on the fall-out of governor Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and his wife Lilian Ng’ang’a.

This comes just a day after Ng’ang’a confirmed on her social media accounts that she had decided to end things with Mutua after she had been hit by the wind of change.

In his take, Sonko termed Ng’ang’a as a strong woman and that she should continue being strong.

“Lilian, you are a strong woman and continue being strong, especially during this difficult time when you are undergoing challenges,” Sonko said.

“We say behind every successful man there’s a woman. You have been with Dr Mutua since 2011 when I was elected as Member of Parliament 15 years ago,” he added.

Sonko further revealed that governor Mutua and Ng’ang’a met even before the former became a governor in Machakos dismissing claims by a section of social media users that the lady was in the relationship to “gold dig.”

He asked them to forgive each other and focus on building the relationship saying that it was time they agreed that the devil was a liar and had no place in their lives.

“This is all about the two of you as a family, so let people talk during the day but at night they will head to bed and life must go on,” Sonko said.

He further told off an unnamed musician who is said to have eloped with Ng’ang’a warning him to keep off from other people’s marriages.

In 2014, before Ng’ang’a came to the limelight- Mutua was married to his ex-wife Josephine Thitu Maundu with whom they have three children; the duo was caught in a bitter public battle for the custody of their children and property.

Shortly after the fall-out with his first wife, Mutua made it public that he was in a relationship with Ng’ang’a and that she was officially the First Lady of Machakos County.

However, the relationship between Ng’ang’a and Mutua was not flowery as it was rocked with allegations of cheating.
