Senate Health Committee has summoned Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to appear in person after he snubbed a scheduled meeting to iron out issues on the transfer of the health docket to the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS).

Governor Sonko sent representatives for the meeting that was set for today at 10 am, including his personal secretary, but the committee demanded his presence.

Health Committee Chairperson, Senator Michael Mbito, ordered the governor to appear on Monday, November 16, at 11 am over the docket transfer issue and to also explain why he snubbed the team.

If Sonko fails to appear in person, Senator Mbito said they will make a decision based on the submissions filed by the NMS over the tug-of-war on the health docket.
