Police on Tuesday teargassed hundreds of Mike Sonko supporters who were marching to Integrity Centre where the Nairobi governor is being questioned.

Detective are questioning Sonko for allegedly giving false information in his self-declaration form dated March 9, 2017, to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

If found guilty for presenting false information to the anti-graft commission, Sonko risk a five-year jail term or Sh5 million fine or both punishments.

Hundreds of Sonko's supporters had on Monday marched to the EACC headquarters based at the Integrity Centre on Valley Road.

However, police used teargas to disperse the crowd with journalists getting caught up in the chaos that ensued.

But Sonko earlier claimed that the anti-graft commission is on a witch-hunt meant to intimidate him.
