A snake temporarily disrupted Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka's meeting with party delegates and Ukambani leaders on Saturday.

According to a video seen by K24 Digital, the delegates scampered for safety at Kalonzo's Yatta firm when word went round that there was a snake slithering inside the tent where they were seated.

Some of the attendees of the meeting jumped on tables to stay safe from the reptile.

In the short video, a number of men are seen hitting the snake before one of them dressed in a Wiper party colours- branded shirt got hold of the snake and left with it.

Kalonzo planned a mega political meeting at his Yatta farm in what pundits say is meant to stamp his authority as the regional boss.

However, the three governors of the region, Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and Alfred Mutua (Machakos) dismissed Kalonzo's meeting stating that they are ready to lead the Kamba community in the race to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Leaders with no development track record have no business representing our community on any negotiation table. Leadership must be development-based and Ukambani region is ready for that change,” Mutua said.

However, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr insisted that Kalonzo is still in the race to replace Uhuru.
