Residents of Kianjogu village in Mathira constituency, Nyeri county are reeling in shock after the body of a five-year-old girl who went missing five days ago was reportedly discovered on Friday, November 5.
According to witnesses, the kindergarten girl was reportedly raped before she was murdered.
Speaking to the press, Damaris Wairimu, the girl’s mother, said her daughter changed into her home clothes after arriving from school before going out to play on the fateful day.

“My daughter came from school as usual after changing her uniform. She then proceeded for a walk. That was the day she vanished,” Wairimu said.
Neighbors who mounted a search a party for the girl identified as Blessing Githaga said her body was discovered inside an abandoned house.
“I was searching for this child when all of sudden I developed some fear on checking inside this house I saw her body placed at a corner,” Catherine Wachira, a neighbor said.
The girl’s body was taken to Karatina Hospital Mortuary as police pursue the perpetrator(s) of the heinous act.
