A 36-year-old man has been arrested in Kisumu for attempting to rape his mother in Seme.
The alleged incident is said to have occurred at Karao village, Kombewa division Seme Sub-county within Kisumu county.
Confirming the incident, Caleb Okuom who is the area chief said he got the information through one of the village managers; Martin Omware informing him that the accused identified as Dan Otieno had attacked his mother.

He told K24 Digital that Otieno arrived home while drunk when he started beating his mother aged 56 with an intention of raping her.
Okuom revealed to us that Otieno chased his wife away.
"The accused arrived home while drunk then he started assaulting his mother and attacking her with an intention of raping her," he said.
He added that immediately after learning about the information he acted swiftly with the help of village elders, arrested him and handed him over to Kombewa police station.
Area OCPD Hellen Rotich told us that the accused was detained at Kombewa police station awaiting to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.
"He will be arraigned before Maseno Law Courts for the offence," she said.
She also condemned the incident stating that it was like a curse.
