Residents of Maridadi village have been left in shock after robbers raided a homestead and stole one of the most dread dogs in the area.

The dog is said to have been feared by many villagers to an extent that they feared visiting its owner.

The homeowner, Stephen Onancha is said to have lost his German Shephard among other valuables in the robbery incident.

“The robbers attacked us at night and made away with our valuables including cattle and 40 bags of maize," Sande Kiplagat, a guard said.

The family suspects that it is the former farmworkers who are behind the robbery.

“We highly suspect the robbers have enough knowledge of this compound to an extent that the dog has become familiar with them,” Kiplagat said.

Kwanza ODCPD Tom Mboya who confirmed the incident has, however, called on the residents to be calm as his officers continue with the investigations.

“We are on top of this matter and optimistic that we will have the suspects arrested because we have some leads,” Mboya said.
