Police officers are pursuing a man who allegedly attacked his girlfriend, killing her in what has now turned out to be a possible love triangle gone wrong in Kosoywa Estate in Nandi County.

Locals and the police say that the incident happened over the weekend where the suspect Aron Kiplagat allegedly attacked Florence Jepkoech, 35 after he found her with another man in a house, they have been living in.

It all started when Kiplagat visited Jepkoech at her place of work and told her that he was heading out of town for work.

With him, Kiplagat was carrying a bag that had his basic effects, which include clothes and shoes.

On the same day, Jepkoech left Nandi Hills town for home in the company of a male friend whom she has been seeing secretly behind Kiplagat’s back.

“They then went straight to Jepkoech’s house after they left town,” Mercy Jeptoo a friend to the deceased said.

Jepkoech and her lover are said to have retired to bed but two hours later, Kiplagat who was in the company of a friend arrived at the door step of the house.

Kiplagat then accosted the duo, and he quickly started assaulting the lady and this attracted the attention of the landlord identified as Josephat Gichamo who raised alarm.

It is then that the suspect and the unidentified man fled the scene, leaving her lying in a pool of blood.

“She was rushed to the Nandi Hills Sub-County hospital, where she succumbed to injuries on Sunday,” Gichamo said.

Nandi East Police Commander Francis Omulo said that the victim’s male friend also fled after the heinous act.

“The duo has been living together, but they usually fought a lot. Already, police are pursuing the killers,” Omulo said.
