A Fourth-Year student at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), who was on Wednesday evening found dead in her rented house in Lurambi, succumbed to stroke, a postmortem examination has revealed.

Belinda Akeyo Achieng, a Bachelor of Education student, was found lying lifeless, with blood oozing from her mouth and private parts.

“One of the ventricles in her brain exploded as a result of cholesterol deposition causing bleeding in the brain. The brain’s normal activity was, therefore, disrupted, leading to Achieng’s death,” a pathologist at the Kakamega County Referral Hospital told K24 Digital on Thursday.

Achieng died aged 22.
