There was a light moment along Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi as sex workers plying across the route contributed for their colleague who reported to 'work' with her child.

This was after the woman claimed that she was forced to go with her child since she had nobody to leave her child.

She also said that her life had become unbearable since there were no customers.

“The house help left without notice after I failed to pay her for two months. I don’t have money and I need to feed my child and my other two children who are upcountry living with my mother,” she stated.

The call girls contributed a sum of Ksh700 to the lady and bought food for her and her child.

One of the women who spoke to a local publication decried the rising cost of living and the difficult times in businesses. She also said that the majority of them are at risk of contracting diseases such as pneumonia due to cold and poor nutrition.

"As other sectors are affected by low business, we are also hard hit. We will have to shift and go back upcountry to do farming. There’s totally no business here," she said.
