Three police officers have been arrested with fake currency in Busia town.
Acting on a tip-off, Directorate of Criminal Investigations officers in Busia on Tuesday trailed the suspects’ vehicle and intercepted it.
Inside the vehicle were three suspects whom police identified as fellow detectives from Bungoma Central.

The suspects were identified as Joseph Kahindi Katsungu, who is an assistant superintendent of police and his two juniors, police constables Alex Rasto Kiplimo and Ayub Waitiki Ng'ang'a.
The senior detective, Katsungu, was found in possession of 415 fake $US100 dollar bills, 2 fake Sh1,000 notes and Sh250.
The two other suspects were found in possession of two pistols, 15 rounds of ammunition and Sh42,600.
Police booked the suspects at the Busia Police Station as they wait for arraignment.
