Ruto arrives in US for 3-day state visit

President William Ruto has arrived in the United States of America to begin a three-day state visit.

He will be at the Carter Presidential Library and Museum in Atlanta Georgia to deliver a speech on Governance and democratic values, anti-corruption, and democracies working together.

Others accompanying Ruto include Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Defense Chief Aden Duale, and Health Minister Susan Nakhumicha.

Ruto has also tagged along Governors Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay), Wavinya Ndeti (Machakos) and Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga).

He is scheduled to visit the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum before proceeding to Ebenezer Baptist Church to pay homage to the civil rights struggle.

He will later visit the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) headquarters to discuss the US-Kenya health partnership.

Day two

On Tuesday, President Ruto will visit Spelman College before proceeding to Tyler Perry Studios.

He will also visit the Coca-Cola company, launch Vivo's inaugural store before attending a dinner hosted by Atlanta's mayor, Andre Dickens.

Day three

On Wednesday, President Ruto will travel to Washington, D.C., where he will be accorded full ceremonial state honours and meet with a congressional delegation. He will also hold discussions at Capital Hill.

Day four

On Thursday, President Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto will lay a wreath at Arlington Cemetery to honour dead American soldiers and other historic figures.

They will also hold a bilateral meeting with President Joe Biden to highlight development opportunities.
