Ruto urges American business moguls to invest in Kenya

President William Ruto has urged America businesses to invest in Kenya, East Africa's largest economy.

Speaking during a Kenya-US executive business roundtable in New York on Wednesday, September 21, the President said Kenya's strong democracy, security, her people and developed infrastructure make a conducive environment for new investments.

"Kenya is open for increased business with the USA. A conducive and enabling business environment will be a focus area of my administration to spur domestic and foreign direct investments to create jobs and wealth," he said.

The Head of State is attending the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

He is scheduled to address the high-level meeting on Wednesday night.

Ruto flew to New York from London where he attended the funeral ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II.

The President was accompanied by a delegation of leaders of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance on his first trip to the US since his inauguration a week ago.

The leaders include Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.

Others in Ruto's entourage are former Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, Communications Director Hussein Mohamed and former Foreign Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Ababu Namwamba among others. Namwamba served as Head of International Relations in William Ruto's Presidential Campaign in the just concluded elections.

The UN General Assembly is the main policy-making organ of the United Nations.

The event offers a platform for the world to come together and address the most pressing global challenges.
