President Uhuru Kenyatta has today advised Kenyan youths to stay alert lest they be taken for a ride by some politicians angling for seats in 2022.

The President, who was speaking in Nakuru county as he conferred Nakuru town with city status, told youths that leadership is not determined by age as they have been made to believe.

"To the youths, I respectfully urge you to brainstorm and avoid rush decisions. Making rush decisions will only land you in a ditch. They will tell you that someone is not fit for some position because he his old.

Leadership is in the brain. It is not a sprint race but a marathon, You will run fast and exhaust yourself while the old man will move steadily and pass you," he said.

The President who was hosted by Nakuru county governor Lee Kinyajui, was flanked by ODM leaderb Raila Odinga among other notable leaders.

Nakuru now joins the list of Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa as the four cities in the country.
