Rongo University in Migori County on Thursday, April 1 sent home its 6,000 students in compliance with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive suspending in-person learning.
The university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Gudu, said all examinations, which were scheduled for April, have been suspended.
The VC said the university in co-ordination with Migori County Commissioner’s office will issue special passes to students travelling to COVID-19 zoned counties.
Prof. Gudu said they are mooting the introduction of online learning following the closure of the institution.
Rongo University was closed indefinitely.
