Raila Odinga has responded to the police's use of water cannon to disperse his supporters in Kawangware, Nairobi on Monday, March 27, 2023.

Police water cannon sprayed Raila's convoy with water in Kawangware as thousands of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance supporters escorted their leaders.

The DJ played 'Uninyunyizie Maji' by Ourlady of Fatima Choir Kongowea as police sprayed Raila's convoy.

"Uninyunyizie maji (Bwana) Unioshe nitakate (kweli) Niwe mweupe kabisa. Mimi ni mwenye dhambi (Bwana) Unioshe nitakate (kweli) Niwe mweupe kabisa," the lyrics blared from the speakers.

Raila took to social media to heap praise on the DJ for consistently being on point and energizing his supporters with the music amid a faceoff with police.

"Thanks to the official DJ for consistently being on point and energizing us with your music," Raila tweeted.

Kawangware roadside rally

Raila addressed his supporters in Kawangware before police moved in to disrupt his roadside rallies.

While speaking in Kawangware, Raila stressed that President William Ruto has to work towards bringing down the cost of living.

“We in Azimio are saying the cost of living must come down. By this, I mean the price of maize flour, sugar, and fuel. Are you in agreement?” he posed.

“We also want the server (election) to be opened," he added.

Raila was accompanied by Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua who was his running mate in the August 2022 polls. Also in the entourage was Wiper Party ticket Kalonzo Musyoka, George Wajackoyah of Roots Party, Eugene Wamalwa (DAP-K).
