Raila organizes campaign fundraiser, asks attendees to contribute Ksh1M each

Orange Democratic Party leader Raila Odinga has called on members of the public to help him raise funds for his campaigns upcoming campaigns.

Raila invited members of the public to a dinner at Kempinski Hotel, Nairobi, on December 7, 2021, where the fundraiser will be held.

In an invite card dubbed 'Baba's One Million Dinner' seen by K24 Digital the ODM leader asked those planning to attend the carry with them Ksh1 million each as their contribution.

Embakasi MP Babu Owino who confirmed the event said that the youth have decided to help Raila raise funds towards his campaigns and they are willing to contribute the said amount.

"As the Kenyan youth, we have analysed and concluded that our future and that of our children can only be safe in the hands of Baba and for that reason, we will invest in him.

"Come on 7th December at Kempinski at 6 pm and enjoy Dinner with Baba. We will contribute Ksh1 million each towards Baba's campaign," Babu said.

It is not the first time the former Prime Minister is calling upon members of the public to help him raise funds for his campaigns.

In 2017, Raila led former Nasa principals in asking Kenyans to donate funds for their campaign. They unveiled a pall bill number and a bank account that those willing to give them financial support would deposit the money.

The recent contribution comes days before ODM's National Delegates Conference where Raila is expected to declare his intention to run for the country's presidency.
