Two officers from the Presidential Escort team, who were involved in a road accident recently, have been discharged from hospital.
In a statement, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua confirmed that the officers were discharged from the Nairobi West Hospital on Wednesday, September 21.
Gachagua said the elite guards paid him a visit at his Harambee House Annex office on their way home to reunite with their families.
"I have been keenly following the healing progress of our officers from the Presidential Escort unit who were hospitalised after a road accident. I am happy they were discharged this afternoon and called on me on their way home to reunite with their families," Gachagua said.
The DP assured the officers of the government support as they recuperate at home.
"We highly value the commitment of our civil servants who serve this country with dedication," he added.
