Kenya army's Colonel Fabian Lengusuranga is President William Ruto's new Aide-De-Camp(ADC)

Lengusuranga officially took over from Brigadier Timothy Stelu Lekolool after he (Timothy) was deployed to the Department of Defence headquarters.

He was seen escorting the commander in chief during the burial ceremony of Jack Gachagua, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s brother in Mathira in Nyeri County.

He will be deputized by Lt. Col. Damaris Agnetta, also from the Kenya Army. Agnetta took over from Racheal Nduta Kamui after she was deployed to the Department of Defence headquarters and promoted to a full colonel.

The new ADC was commissioned in 1999. He has served as a senior special forces branch commander. His deputy on the other hand was commissioned in 2003 and had been serving as an Artillery officer.

She has also served in the United Nations (UN) observer mission.

Brigadier Lekoloolm served as former President Uhuru Kenyatta's ADC for 10 years. He was the first ADC to be picked from the navy while his deputy was from the Kenya Airforce.

An ADC is a military officer who stands behind the president during official events.

He partakes in various roles such as escorting the president to cars and opening doors, carrying the president's personal items such as mobile phones and speeches among others.

The process of choosing ADCs is usually done in conjunction with the National Defence Council.
