From suicide attempts to tales of Kisii men seething with anger - 2021 bizarre stories from Kisii County

A woman and her two-year-old daughter who went missing a week ago on November 2, 2020, were on Tuesday rescued from a gang of five abductors by a joint team of Ugunja-based detectives.

The 20-year-old mother and her daughter had been staying at a relative's house at Siaya's Sindindi area days before their mysterious disappearance.

Acting on a tip-off, the officers raided two separate houses within Luanda township in Siaya where the two victims had been confined separately.

Five suspects who detectives established were behind the heinous act were arrested during the rescue operation.

The five aged between 18 and 29 years include a teenager who kept custody of the daughter as the mother was held separately over unestablished motives.

A Toyota Premio which the suspects used during the abduction incident was also recovered during the raid.

Further investigations are ongoing as detectives believe the gang is behind a spate of violent robberies reported within the County.
