Police officer arrested after shooting female reveller in Mukuru Kwa Reuben slums

A police constable was on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, arrested after he shot a reveller in Mukuru Kwa Reuben slums.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, Isaac Asika joined revellers at Sparks club while armed with a rifle and in full uniform. A disagreement ensued between him and some merrymakers over a girl before the officer pulled out his gun and shot the woman they were quarrelling over.

"While at Spark’s pub in Mukuru Kwa Reuben with other levers, Constable Asika came and joined us while armed with a rifle and in full uniform. A disagreement emerged over a lady where the officer shot her in the right thigh,” Maina Cyrus a resident of Reuben slums explained to the police.

Rogue police officer armed with AK-47

The officer was arrested and disarmed, his gun an AK-47 rifle was loaded with 28 rounds of 7.62mm bullets which were kept as an exhibit.

He was searched and placed in custody while appearing drunk as detectives continued with investigations.

The victim was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital where she was treated and discharged in a stable condition.
