Police officer commits suicide inside his Kirinyaga house

A police officer attached to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) police station in Embakassi has committed suicide.

Donfan Njoroge hanged himself inside his house in Mwea West Sub-County in Kirinyaga County.

The matter was reported by his wife identified as Leah Wangui. “She reported that her husband aged 33 years committed suicide scene was visited by police officers from Kiamaciri station,” a report seen by K24 Digital read in part.

The report further revealed that the body had no visible injuries and he did not leave behind a suicide note.

It has emerged that the officer had tried to commit suicide by taking Baraki Rat and mouse pellets but it was not reported.

He also left behind a will dated July 26, 2021, on how his properties will be shared.

His body was removed to Kibugi Funeral Home Awaiting autopsy.

Cases of people committing suicide have been on the increase in the recent past.

This has been attributed to the tough economic times due to the spread of Covid-19.
