Police in Karuri, Kiambaa in Kiambu County are looking for a youthful hairdresser who left her three-month-old son at her client’s house in unclear circumstances.

The woman, identified only as Njeri, left her child at her client’s place on Monday, October 19 and fled to an unknown destination, police say.

As of Friday, October 23, Njeri hadn’t returned to pick her son.

Karuri OCPD Joseph Muchiri told K24 Digital that Njeri’s son has since been taken to a children’s home in Lari.

According to Njeri’s neighbour in Gachie, Marion Njoroge, Njeri is a freelance hair stylist, who attends to her clients at their places of residence.

Marion said the Monday incident wasn’t the first of its nature, in which Njeri abandons her child.

OCPD Muchiri has urged Kenyans to report to any nearby police station should they see or meet Njeri.
