Police in Nairobi have launched a manhunt for a man who allegedly shot his fiancé in Mukuru Slums before going into hiding in a suspected love triangle.

Locals and police officers who saw the body of Monicah Katunge Katee said that he was shot six times at close range.

Katee, 27, was an actress who has been sharing her videos on various social media platforms.

Evans Kamau, a local said that he heard gunshots from the house where the woman has been living but they feared to find out what was happening.

“I heard the gunshots but I feared going outside because I was not sure what was happening. Moments later when everything had gone silent, I reached out to the police,” Kamau said.

According to Peter Otieno, once he heard the gunshots, he reached out to a local who in turn called the police.

“The police also arrived here in time but the man who ended the life of Katee had already run away,” Otieno said.

Embakasi Police boss John Nyamu told K24 Digital that the suspect is a wanted man and that he has been on police radar for a while now.

“The man has been on police radar for some time now. We are now asking him whenever he might be to present himself to the police because at the end of the day, we shall nab him,” Nyamu said.

According to her close friends, Monicah was known to be very jovial and most of them preferred to call her Monie.

DJ Bird Highest who has worked together with the deceased said that Katee grew up in Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums and that she was friendly to everyone.
