Police in Lari, Kiambu County are investigating a case in which four male bodies were found dumped at Ngubi Forest along the Nairobi-Maai Mahiu road during the weekend.

Area sub-county police commander Adamson Furaha confirmed that three bodies of unidentified men were found on Sunday, June 19, while the fourth one was found on Saturday, June 18.

Furaha said the bodies which had no identification documents were taken to City Mortuary in Nairobi to await an autopsy.

He said all bodies were discovered by locals who go to the forest to fetch firewood and roadside traders.

Police enhance patrols

The gruesome murders of the youthful men have left traders operating along the highway in fear and uncertainties of their security as they do their businesses.

"We fear for our lives because we don't know who the killers are and whether they can come for us for discovering the bodies," a maize roaster, who sought anonymity, told K24 Digital.

The police boss assured the traders and motorists along the highway that they have intensified day and night patrols to prevent the killers from gaining entry into the forest to dump any more bodies.

"Some of the bodies have no visible injuries while others bore head injuries implying that they were hit with blunt objects," he said.

He added that they have launched investigations into the incidences so that they can arrest the killers and discover why each was killed.
