Kisumu man on the run for k*****g 15-year old boy, leaving another 13-year old for dead using kitchen k***e

Police in Kisumu have launched manhunt for a middle-aged man who allegedly stabbed and killed a 15-year-old boy and left another 13-year-old boy nursing stabbing wounds.

Stephen Opiyo alias Chopper is said to have used a kitchen knife to commit the heinous crime.

Confirming the incident, Kisumu County Police Commander Samuel Anampiu told K24 that the matter was reported at 6:30am by one Beatrice Owino, a landlady and village elder Eunice Anyango.

The police boss said the incident took place at Rae village, Nyalunya sub-location Kolwa Central within Kisumu East Sub-county.

Anampiu said that the landlady heard commotion and noise from one of the plot houses and after moving closer to the tenant's house, she found Tobias Omondi aged 13 sitting outside and bleeding profusely.

"That was when she entered the house and found another boy Dickens Odhiambo aged 15 lying dead in a pool of blood," he said.

He added that the landlady immediately raised alarm and neighbours and villagers came in large numbers.

According to the information gathered, the County boss said the suspect Opiyo who is a bodaboda rider and a family friend had spent a night with the two young boys in the same house.

But however, at around 5:40 hours he stabbed them with a kitchen knife before fleeing away.

"The scene was visited by my officers including the OCS, DCIO Kisumu East and Crime scene support team where they found Tobias Omondi, 13, having sustained four stab wounds on the neck," Anampiu said.

He added that Omondi was immediately rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching And Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) while in a serious condition. However, Dickens Odhiambo was found lying dead in a pool of blood with several stab wounds on the neck and the right-hand wrist.

The body of the deceased was moved to JOOTRH awaiting postmortem.

Anampiu said they recovered the exhibit a knife which was found with bloodstains and said a clear motive for the incident was yet to be established.
