Police in Kisumu have arrested two men who were held in police cells about a week ago

The duo Mohammed Ali Hussein (18) a Somali nationalist and Elvis Odhiambo (17) escaped from Kapsoya police station in Eldoret on November 11, 2021.

The two pretended to be street boys in Manyatta slums when members of the public became suspicious and alerted the authorities.

Confirming the incident, Kisumu County OCPD James Ng'etich said they arrested the two at around 0800hrs.

The police boss said the suspects were connected by a team of officers from Kondele and Kapsoya at Manyatta area.

He said that they started the operations yesterday evening and were lucky to have arrested them successful today.

Ng'etich informed us that the duo was facing robbery with violence charges at Eldoret Law courts.

He termed the matter to be sensitive and clarified to the public that the two were robbery with violent suspects and not terror suspects who recently escaped from Kamiti maximum prison.

"They are currently being held at Kondele police station pending collection to Kapsoya," he said.
