A court in Siaya has extended the detention time of the main suspect in the murder of Star journalist Erick Otieno Oloo.

Chief Inspector Sabina Kerubo will spent the next 14 days at the DCIO's office in Siaya town pending completion of the murder investigation.

The order was issued on Monday by Siaya Principal Magistrate James Ong'ondo when the suspect was arraigned.

The murdered journalist was buried on Saturday at his Ugunja home.

He was killed in the house of his lover, Kerubo, in unclear circumstances on Wednesday, November 21.

Kerubo is a deputy OCS at the Ugunja Police Station.

It was alleged that Oloo, 41, found other men in Kerubo's house on Wednesday night, resulting in the fatal confrontation with two brothers, Victor Lutta and Franckline Lutta.

When the incident was reported, Ugunja Sub-County Police Commander, Ibrahim Muchuma arrested Kerubo alongside her daughter, house-help, and Victor Lutta.

The postmortem report showed that the Star journalist was hit with a blunt object in the head and abdomen, resulting in excess internal bleeding that led to his death.
