Kenyatta University (KU) has revoked the doctorate degree awarded to one of its lecturers over plagiarism.

The lecturer is accused of plagiarizing thesis of Nigeria's Usmanu Danfodiyo University senior lecturer in 2018.

KU Vice Chancellor Prof Paul Wainaina said the lecturer has been discontinued forthwith, a month after the Nigerian lecturer complained of his thesis being plagiarised.

Wainaina also stated that the social sciences lecturer has handed in the original doctorate degree certificate previously issued to him, even as he warned that academic fraud will not be tolerated.

The lecturer appeared before a student disciplinary committee on the same matter on Thursday last week and was discontinued.
