Three People, two men, and a woman were found dead embracing each other in a lodging in the Pipeline area in Embakasi, Nairobi.

The two males have been identified as Philip Murefu Simiyu aged 63 and Boniface Muchiri Waruiru aged 28 while the woman is yet to be identified.

According to a witness and police officer, the lips of the three were intercrossed and they held each other.

One of the men is also reported to be bleeding from the nose and mouth when the bodies were discovered on Monday afternoon.

Police officers have termed the incident as a puzzle and have said investigations are on to know what exactly transpired at the lodge.

A detective handling the incident said they suspect cults to be the reason behind it.

There were no signs of struggle or breaking into the room which now made the police conclude their deaths could have been a result of suicide as they proceed with investigations.

The proprietor of Chairman Lounge Guest House said the three checked in at around midnight on Monday and had failed to check out in the afternoon as they had anticipated.

According to the management, an attendant was sent to check on them and said there was no response forcing them to call the police who broke in through the window at about 2 PM when they discovered the bodies.

Detectives are tracing the families of the deceased.

“The postmortem will tell us if they took poison or what happened in the room. For now, we do not know what could have led to the deaths,” Paul Wachira the head of DCI, Nairobi stated.
