A pharmacist on Thursday surrendered himself to police after stabbing his girlfriend to death in Nakuru County.

Police said that Joseph Kipkirui, 37, stabbed 22-year-old Purity Mumbi five times at his house in Huruma Estate.

Njoro police boss Jonathan Kisaka said that Kipkirui, who is based at Egerton University, stabbed his lover with a kitchen knife.

“The suspect has been taken to Gilgil Mental Hospital for mental assessment as the investigations continue,” Mr Kisaka said.
