A family in Eldoret is in distress after their kin was allegedly abducted by unknown people at Outspan area in Kiambaa on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

Dickson Ndungu Thinde, a pastor at the Kenya Assemblies of God (KAG) church, was allegedly kidnapped while heading home after closing his butchery outlet at around 9:30 pm.

Only a loaf of bread that the man of the cloth was carrying was recovered at the scene.

“He operates a butchery at Outspan and had closed the shop at around 9:30 pm on Thursday, while heading to his home that is approximately 400 meters away from the shop he was kidnapped, we noticed signs of struggle at the scene where he was kidnapped. Only a loaf of bread he had bought for his family was found at the scene, “ Rev. John Ndegwa Kiarie said.

Elijah Chege Thinde, the brother of the victim, said efforts to look for him in nearby police stations and hospitals have been futile.

Chege said his brother was in high spirits at the time of his disappearance.

He urged the persons behind the kidnapping not to harm him even as he appealed to members of the public to help the family trace their kin.

“I had spoken to him before his disappearance he was jovial and in good mood. My brother had no dispute with anyone that we are aware of.

"We plead with whoever may have kidnapped him not to harm him," Chege said.
